Open Access Policy

Spectrum of Mechanical Engineering and Operational Research (SMEOR) is a fully open-access journal. All published articles are freely and permanently available online immediately upon publication, without subscription charges or other access barriers for readers or their institutions.

Immediate Open Access

Readers may access, read, download, copy, share, distribute, print, search, link to, and reuse published articles without requesting prior permission from the journal or Publisher, provided that such use complies with the applicable open-access license.

SMEOR does not impose an embargo period on access to published articles. The Version of Record is freely accessible from the journal's official website immediately upon publication.

Creative Commons License

Articles published in SMEOR are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

The CC BY 4.0 License permits users to:

  • copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;
  • share and distribute published material;
  • remix, transform, and adapt the material;
  • build upon the material; and
  • use the material for any lawful purpose, including commercial purposes.

These permissions apply provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), the source of publication is appropriately identified, a link to the CC BY 4.0 License is provided, and any changes made to the original material are indicated.

Copyright

Open-access publication does not transfer copyright ownership away from the authors. Authors retain copyright in their published articles and grant SMEOR the right of first publication.

Detailed information concerning copyright ownership, licensing, reuse, permissions, and third-party material is provided in the journal's Copyright and Licensing policy.

Third-Party Material

Unless otherwise indicated in a credit line, material published as part of an article is available under the article's CC BY 4.0 License.

The CC BY 4.0 License applicable to an SMEOR article does not automatically apply to third-party material where a credit line, copyright notice, or other indication specifies different rights or licensing conditions. Users are responsible for determining whether additional permission from the relevant rights holder is required for reuse of such material.

Self-Archiving

Authors may deposit and make publicly available the submitted version, accepted manuscript, and published Version of Record in accordance with the journal's Self-archiving Policy.

SMEOR does not impose an embargo period on the self-archiving of these versions.

Open Access and Long-Term Availability

SMEOR supports the broad dissemination and long-term accessibility of scholarly research. Published articles form part of the journal's permanent scholarly record and are intended to remain accessible independently of routine changes to the journal's website or publishing infrastructure.

Information concerning the long-term preservation of published scholarly content is provided in the journal's Archiving Digital Version policy.

Editorial Independence

Open-access publication and any publication-related financial arrangements are independent of editorial decision-making. Editorial decisions are based on scholarly and editorial considerations and must not be influenced by commercial or financial interests.

Further information is provided in the journal's Editorial Independence policy.
