Self-archiving Policy
Spectrum of Mechanical Engineering and Operational Research (SMEOR) supports the self-archiving and broad dissemination of scholarly research. Authors may deposit and make publicly available different versions of their manuscripts in accordance with the conditions described below.
Submitted Version (Preprint)
Authors may deposit the submitted version of their manuscript before or during submission to SMEOR. Preprints may be made available through recognized preprint servers, institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, funder-designated repositories, personal or institutional websites, and other appropriate scholarly platforms.
Where a preprint or another publicly available version of the manuscript exists, authors should disclose this during submission and provide the relevant link, DOI, or other persistent identifier where available.
Accepted Manuscript
Authors may deposit the accepted manuscript, incorporating revisions made following peer review but prior to the journal's final production and typesetting, in institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, funder-designated repositories, personal or departmental websites, and other appropriate scholarly platforms.
Once the Version of Record has been published, the deposited accepted manuscript should include or be accompanied by complete bibliographic information and a link to the final published article through its DOI.
Published Version of Record
Authors may deposit, share, and make publicly available the published Version of Record immediately upon publication.
The Version of Record may be deposited in institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, funder-designated repositories, personal, institutional, or departmental websites, academic networking platforms, and other appropriate scholarly services.
When the published Version of Record is deposited or shared, authors should provide complete bibliographic information for the original publication, including the author(s), article title, journal title, publication year, volume and issue where applicable, and page range or article number where applicable. The deposited version should include or be accompanied by a link to the article's DOI.
No Embargo Period
SMEOR does not impose an embargo period on the self-archiving of the submitted version, accepted manuscript, or published Version of Record. Authors may deposit permitted versions immediately, subject to the journal's applicable copyright, licensing, attribution, and third-party material requirements.
Copyright and Licensing
Articles published in SMEOR are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
Accordingly, published material may be shared and reused in accordance with the terms of that license, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), the source of publication is identified, a link to the license is provided, and any changes are indicated.
Authors retain copyright in their published articles, and no additional permission from SMEOR or the Publisher is required to exercise the self-archiving rights described in this policy.
Detailed information concerning copyright ownership, licensing, reuse, and third-party material is provided in the journal's Copyright and Licensing policy.
Third-Party Material
Authors should ensure that third-party material contained in an archived article or manuscript version is shared in accordance with the copyright, permissions, credit lines, and licensing conditions applicable to that material.
The CC BY 4.0 License applicable to an SMEOR article does not automatically apply to third-party material where a credit line, copyright notice, or other indication specifies different rights or licensing conditions.
Open Access and Long-Term Preservation
Self-archiving complements the journal's commitment to immediate and unrestricted access to published research. Further information concerning access to and reuse of published articles is provided in the journal's Open Access Policy.
The journal's arrangements for the long-term preservation and continued accessibility of published scholarly content are described separately in the Archiving Digital Version policy.
